The NTUC Care Fund (Education Awards) aims to support lower-income NTUC General Branch members in their children’s education, recognising their academic achievements and aspirations.
Eligibility Criteria
Membership
- Applicable to NTUC General Branch members only.
- Must have at least 6 continuous months of membership at the time of application and must not be in arrears.
Candidate
- Candidates for the Award are children of union members.
- They must be enrolled in Singapore’s educational institutions in AY2023 and AY2024.
- They must not receive or apply for bursary awards from any other organisations, including the Government Education Scheme, using results from AY2023.
- They must achieve a passing grade for the overall aggregate and cannot be a retained student in 2024.
Income
- Total Monthly Gross Household Income (GH) of $3,800 and below, OR
- Per Capita Income (PCI) of $950 and below if Gross Household Income exceeds $3,800
Please note:
- Gross income is defined as all income derived from employment/business, inclusive of overtime and allowances.
- Member’s family members living in the same household in Singapore excluding domestic helper.
Documents Required
Income documents are required from member and all family members living in the same household, except family members who are attending school.
- If employed – Pay slip (of recent 3 months from date of application)
- If self-employed – Copy of latest Notice of Assessment from IRAS (for Year of Assessment 2023 or 2024, where applicable)
- If unemployed – CPF Contribution History (of recent 3 months from date of application)
Members may choose to pre-fill the following information via MyInfo:
- Pay slip (of recent 3 months from date of application)
- Latest Notice of Assessment from IRAS (for Year of Assessment 2023 or 2024, where applicable)
- CPF Contribution History (past 15 months)
For cases where family members have passed the legislated re-employment age at the point of application and are unable to provide income documentation due to mobility issues, unavailability of mobile or laptop devices etc., income documents may not be required from these family members.
For cases where member’s family member(s) are holding a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP) and are staying in the same household, the family member(s) may be counted as a valid headcount for the computation of the Per Capita Income (PCI) if they hold a valid LTVP at the point of application. Member are required to submit the LTVP holders’ income documents as well, where applicable.
Additional supporting documents
- Birth certificate for dependents attending school in the household
- For foreign birth certificate, please also submit Certificate of Singapore Citizenship/Re-entry Permit
- Education-supporting documents for dependents who are the candidates for the Award:
AY2023 Results slip/transcript/graduation certificate, AND 2024 Letter of Certification - Proof of bank account number of union member (to show the bank logo, bank account name and bank account number)

- Member may be required to submit additional supporting document(s) for spouse and child/children for verification and audit purposes.

When is the application period?
NTUC General Branch members can apply for the NTUC Care Fund (Education Awards) 2024 from now until 27 August 2024, 4pm. Click here to apply.
How many children can I apply for the Award?
Only maximum of 2 children per family can apply.
Why is my child not eligible for the Award?
Your child will not be eligible for the Award if they are:
- A student going to National Service (NS). Your child can only apply when he/she resumes studies after completing NS. Please use the latest results slip before they are enlisted.
- A student on bridging courses tie-up between foreign and local education institutions and exchange programmes.
- A graduating student. He/she can only apply if he/she continues/resumes studies in AY2024, e.g. Junior College/Polytechnic proceeding to University.
If my child was in Junior College (JC) in AY2023 and is in a local University in AY2024, is she eligible for the Award?
Yes, eligible for the Award. We refer to the education supporting documents from candidates based on their AY2023 results slip/transcript/graduation certificate, and 2024 Letter of Certification.
